JOHN SUDDUTH, SENIOR PASTOR

John Sudduth was appointed to Maples in June 2005 as the senior pastor. He earned his undergraduate degree from Mississippi State University. After spending about 10 years in business management and production management, he answered the call to ministry. John attended Candler School of Theology at Emory University in Atlanta, GA. and was awarded his Master of Divinity degree in 1992. John has served churches in Forsyth, Georgia and Coldwater, Arkabutla, Tupelo and Olive Branch, MS.

John was raised in central and northern Mississippi. He is married and has three children. John enjoys reading, working in the "yard," and following high school and collegiate basketball.

 

ADAM GORDON, ASSOCIATE PASTOR

Adam was appointed to Maples in June 2011 as the associate pastor. He received his Bachelor of Arts from Drury University in Springfield, Missouri, where he majored in religion (2004). After college, Adam studied at Saint Paul School of Theology, a United Methodist seminary in Kansas City, Missouri, where he received his Master of Divinity degree (2008). Adam was ordained as an Elder in The United Methodist Church at the 2011 Mississippi Annual Conference. Before coming to Mississippi where he has served churches in Booneville and now Olive Branch, Adam served churches in Prairie Village, Kansas and North Kansas City, Missouri.

Adam is one-half of a clergy couple. His wife (and seminary sweetheart), Amanda, also serves as the pastor of a United Methodist congregation in Desoto County. When he has free time, Adam loves reading, camping, listening to and creating music, watching college and professional football, professional baseball, and spending time with Amanda.

JOEY LOTT, DIRECTOR OF MUSIC MINISTRIES

Joey serves as Director of Music Ministries. He earned his BA from Delta State University and an MM in vocal performance from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Currently, While earning his BA degree in music, Joey served as a summer missionary in Washington State, Oregon, and Tokyo, Japan. Currently, he is completing his Doctorate in Worship Studies at the Robert Webber Institute for Worship Studies. Joey joined the Maples Ministry Team in 2001.

Joey was born and raised in North Mississippi. He is married and has two sons. Joey enjoys running, traveling, cooking, spending time with his family, and working in the yard.

JANE DOWNS, ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT

Jane Downs has served Maples as Administrative/Financial Secretary for over 25 years, beginning as part time staff in January, 1980. She majored in English during a two year stint at Memphis State University.

Born in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, she grew up in and around the Memphis area. Jane is married, has three children, and four grandchildren. Traveling, reading, singing and trout fishing are her favorite forms of

AMY CLINE, BOOKKEEPING

Amy joined the staff in February 2011.  She will be handling the bookkeeping services for the church and Maples Learning Center.  Amy received her BA degree from Auburn Univesity at Montgomery in 1993.  She received her CPA certificate in August 1997.

Amy was born and raised in Prattville, Alabama.  She moved to Olive Branch in 2001.  She currently resides in Hernando with her husband and three children.  She enjoys spending time with her family and friends, reading and working puzzles.

 

SHEA SOUTH, DIRECTOR OF MAPLES LEARNING CENTER                                                                    shea@mapleschurch.org

Shea joined the Maples Learning Center Team in 2001 as an After School teacher. She became Assistant Director in August 2004, and then became Director in 2007. Shea completed the Director Credentialing in September 2004.

She was born and raised in Walls, MS. She is married and has two children. Shea enjoys playing with her children, cooking, relaxing outside, and spending time with friends.

ANGIE OSWALT, CHILDREN'S MINISTRY

Angie is the Director of Children’s Ministries at Maples. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from the University of Mississippi and taught children in fourth through sixth grades for several years. Angie joined the Maples Ministry team in June 2010, and she is delighted to serve the children and parents of Maples.

TYLER SMITHER, CO-DIRECTOR OF YOUTH MINITRIES

Tyler serves as Director of Youth Ministries. He grew up in Raleigh, NC and earned his BS in Education from North Carolina State University. While attending college Tyler served as both a volunteer leader and intern with the youth ministry at Highland UMC in Raleigh. Tyler is currently working on his MA in Youth Ministry through the Center for Youth Ministry Training and Memphis Theological Seminary. Tyler joined the Maples Ministry Team part-time in the summer of 2010.

 

STACIE MARTIN, CO-DIRECTOR OF YOUTH MINITRIES

Stacie serves as the Co-Youth Director of Youth Ministries here at Maples. She joined the Maples family in August, 2011. She grew up in Port Ludlow, Washington and then attended Northwest Nazarene University in Nampa, Idaho. Stacie has a degree in Christian Ministries with a minor in Youth Ministries and is currently pursuing her MA in Youth Ministry through the Center for Youth Ministry Training and Memphis Theological Seminary. Before moving to Mississippi, Stacie spent time serving in ministry through internships in a variety of places including Washington, Idaho, and Alaska. Stacie also spent time studying overseas at European Nazarene College in Busingen, Germany exploring Religious Studies.  Stacie really enjoys the outdoors, camping, traveling, taking pictures, and music.

SAM BROOKS, CUSTODIAN

Sam joined the Maples staff in January of 2007. Sam is from Tupelo, MS . Before joining the Maples staff, he served at First United Methodist Church in Tupelo, MS.

LYNN JOHNSTON, ADMINISTRATOR

Lynn joined the staff in August of 2010.  She is originally from Memphis and attended local schools and college there.  Lynn brings 15 years experience as a financial analyst in the business field. She is married with three children and resides in the Red Banks community.  She enjoys reading, cooking and outdoor activities.
