Children's Lenten Events
It's time to start thinking about Easter! The Children's Committee is hosting two wonderful events for your children leading up to Easter. The first is our annual Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, March 24th at 10:00 a.m. There will be lots of activities for the kids ending with an Easter egg hunt. This is open to all children. The second event is on Sunday, March 25th at 11:00 a.m. The children will meet in the narthex and receive a palm branch - we will process in and around the sanctuary waving our palm branches, then exit to Wesley Hall for our Walk with Jesus event. During the walk, children will learn about and experience the events leading up to and celebrating Easter. This program is for 3 years-5th grades.

Kairos Weekend in April
Two Maples members, Donna Zaino and LisaLynn Treadway, will be serving on a Kairos weekend in April. Please keep them in your prayers as they go through several weeks of training. There will also be opportunities for you to be part of this ministry by providing homemade cookies and financial support for their team.

Confirmation Sunday April 8
Join us on Confirmation Sunday, April 8th at 11:00 a.m. as we celebrate the decisions of nine students. These students have been studying together what it means to be a Christian, a United Methodist and a member of Maples Memorial UMC. They will make the decision for themselves to say yes to Christ, yes to the UMC and yes to Maples on April 8th.

Congratulations to: Mia Grace Bellipanni, Ella Grace Holloway, Casey Lynn Jasick, Caleb Jarret McCain, Maycee Elizabeth Medlin, Brandon Christopher Roman, John Michael Treadway, Gracie Elizabeth Jefferson and Paul Alden Swindle.

Little Free Pantry
The Little Free Pantry, installed last summer on the west side of our campus, has been a valuable outreach to the Olive Branch community. Not only does is provide non-perishables and hygiene items to those in need, it has been a fulfilling yet easy way those who are 2 to 92 can be the hands and feet of Christ. I have received touching messages of thanks who have benefited from the pantry's items and also the excitement of an MLC parent whose child loves adding an item everyone morning.

If you have any questions, feel free to contact via email.  You're encouraged to sign up to fill the pantry here. Examples of pantry items can include nonperishable foods, toilet paper, diapers, baby food, hygiene products (soap, toothpaste, etc), pet food, & school supplies. (Vitamins, medicine, and razors are discouraged.)

Vacation Bible School 2018!
Three more months till Vacation Bible school! Shipwreck 2018...Rescued by Jesus is looking for a quite a few good men, women and teens to help with this year's VBS. Register yourself to volunteer on our VBS website here

It is also not to early to register your child aged 4 years through 5th graders. The first 50 kids to register on the website by May 1st, will receive a Shipwreck water bottle! We made a few changes this year that we think everyone will like. 4/5 year old preschoolers will be in the Wesley Hall area called the Tide Pool where they will discover more about how Jesus Rescues us. Kindergarten through 5th graders will be in the Sanctuary area called Shipwreck Bay.

Mark your calendars now...June 10th-14th 2018 from 6-8:00 p.m.
