Maples Memorial United Methodist Sunday Church Services

Maples Memorial UMC offers two opportunities to worship on Sunday mornings. At 8:30 am, we offer a Wesleyan Communion Service called "The Table" and at 10:30 am, we offer Sunday worship.  At both services, you will receive a sermon from our pastor.  At 9:30 am, we have awesome Sunday School classes for all age groups.  Please choose your worship service and the Sunday School class that best fits you!

MID-WINTER PICNIC

What do snow, penguins, seals, ants and hippos have in common?  Come to the Mid-Winter Picnic for families to find out on Saturday, January 26th from 4-6p.m. in Wesley Hall.  This is an event for the entire family.  We will start with a picnic; families need to bring a blanket to sit on and a dish to share.  Maples will provide chicken strips.  After the picnic meal, families will compete again other families in some fun games.

SENATOBIA DISTRICT MISSION TRIP

Are you interested in serving God alongside some great folks from the Senatobia District this summer? Join us for our 6th Annual El Salvador Mission Trip as we partner with Salvadoran Mission Projects and help build a new church or school, host Vacation Bible School, and make community visits with a local pastor to deliver food and offer prayer.  No previous experience is required, but team members must be 18 years or older and be connected to a UMC in the Senatobia District.  Team leaders are Rev. Amanda Gordon and Madii Sowell.  For more information or an application, contact senumc.net or minormemorial.org or Rev. Sparks or Madii.  An application and $250 deposit are due by January 21, 2019.

Little Free Pantry

The Little Free Pantry, installed last summer on the west side of our campus, has been a valuable outreach to the Olive Branch community. Not only does is provide non-perishables and hygiene items to those in need, it has been a fulfilling yet easy way those who are 2 to 92 can be the hands and feet of Christ. I have received touching messages of thanks who have benefited from the pantry's items and also the excitement of an MLC parent whose child loves adding an item everyone morning.

If you have any questions, feel free to contact via email.  You're encouraged to sign up to fill the pantry here. Examples of pantry items can include nonperishable foods, toilet paper, diapers, baby food, hygiene products (soap, toothpaste, etc), pet food, & school supplies. (Vitamins, medicine, and razors are discouraged.)

PARENTS MEETING

Sunday, January 13th at 9:45 a.m. in the Sanctuary, there will be a meeting of children and youth parents to discuss the possibility of Maples children and youth attending summer camp the same week at Camp Lake Stephens this summer.  There is a survey on the Maples Children's Facebook page as well as the Maples Facebook page for parents to vote for the week of their choice.
