At 8:30 am, we offer a Wesleyan Communion Service called "The Table" and at 10:30 am, we offer Sunday worship called "Traditions".  At both services, you will receive a sermon from our pastor.  At 9:30 am, we have awesome Sunday School classes for all age groups.  Please choose your worship service and the Sunday School class that best fits you!

Reminder to Parents

Please note that if you are putting your children up through 5th grade in the church nursery, Children's Church or other classes during church wide events such as Sunday School, worship services or Wednesday night activities, at least one parent must stay on church property.

Important Meetings Coming Up in November

Two important gatherings in the life of Maples Church will take place on Thursday, November 21. A Church Conference will be held at 6:00 p.m. in the sanctuary to hold a vote on the implementation of the proposed One Board Model. During the Church Conference all full members of the church may vote on the issue. There have been several meetings and information distributed about the possible move from having an Administrative Board, Finance Committee, Trustees and Staff Parish Relations Committee to rolling all these functions into a 9-12 person Board. If you need information about this proposal, contact the church office.

Our annual Charge Conference will follow at 7:00 p.m. During this meeting pastoral salaries for 2020 will be approved and officers for the coming year will be elected. Anyone is welcome to attend, but only Administrative Board members have a vote.

Growing in Grace Bible Study Weekly

Growing in Grace is a non-denominational Bible study open to all women in the community which meets at Maples on Wednesday mornings during the school year. Classes are now in session but please join us if you are looking for a womens' study.  We meet every Wednesday morning at 10 am.

The Family Table-Wednesdays 5:30pm

These coats, etc. will be going to children/residents in the Olive Branch area. Please bring the items to the marked bin at the Information Desk by November 16.

MaplesKids!

Beginning October 1, Maples Glow Kids Sunday/Wednesday Night activities for Prek-5th will be renamed...MaplesKids!

Sunday mornings will be taught by our interim children's director, Sarah Kirchhoff and two volunteers will be in monthly rotations with her each morning. Sundays during Maples Kids, the interim children's director will teach a "theme/topic" directly related to what Pastor Stephen Sparks will be preaching. (This will lead to family discussions and will help keep to topic with the whole family.) Your children will go to Sunday school normally, but for Maples Kids they will go to the sanctuary. Then during "Children's Moment" your child/children will come forward to go with our interim director and the volunteers to the MaplesKids activity. You will still pick your child up after Maples Kids like you did for Glow Kids.It will look like this...

  • Going to Sunday School I check my child in at the kiosk by the offices, get a sticker, place it on my child's back, and keep a copy for myself.
  • I then pick my child up from Sunday School and take them with me to the Sanctuary for the first 15-20 minutes of the service. (This is so that we help them connect to the larger cross generational service.) I DO NOT NEED TO CHECK THEM BACK IN FOR MAPLESKIDS (children's church).
  • If I don't make it to Sunday School I can check my child in to MaplesKids at a new kiosk in the Narthex, get a sticker for them and for me, and then take them with me to my seat.
  • All children will then be invited forward for Children's Sermon.
  • Then these Children will be released to Mapleskids and be taken out by our awesome volunteers.
  • If a child doesn't have a sticker then they will not leave the sanctuary and a volunteer will attempt to locate the parents to get the child checked in.
  • Parents will at the end of the service pick up their child from the Mapleskids room.
